Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Concrete Quantity Takeoff Specialist to support a U.S.-based construction company specializing in concrete and structural construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience reviewing foundation and structural construction drawings and performing accurate material quantity takeoffs. The primary responsibility is to calculate concrete quantities and other required material quantities from construction plans and organize the results using company-provided Excel templates.
This position focuses on material quantity calculations rather than preparing complete construction cost estimates, including labor, equipment, or overall project pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret foundation, structural, and Support of Excavation (SOE) drawings.
- Perform detailed concrete quantity takeoffs for foundations, footings, slabs, columns, beams, walls, and other structural elements.
- Calculate concrete volumes, dimensions, and material quantities based on construction drawings.
- Review structural details and reinforcement drawings to calculate rebar quantities when required.
- Enter and organize takeoff calculations in company-provided Excel templates.
- Verify calculations and cross-check quantities against construction drawings and project specifications.
- Identify discrepancies, missing dimensions, or inconsistencies in construction plans and communicate questions when clarification is needed.
- Maintain clear and accurate supporting calculations and documentation.
- Collaborate remotely with the project team to clarify drawing details and scope requirements.
- Complete takeoffs accurately and within established deadlines.
Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience in concrete quantity takeoffs, structural concrete takeoffs, or construction quantity surveying.
- Strong ability to read and interpret foundation and structural construction drawings.
- Understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and structural components.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, calculations, and spreadsheets.
- Familiarity with U.S. construction measurement units, including square feet, cubic feet, and cubic yards.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Intermediate to advanced English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience working with U.S.-based construction companies or structural concrete contractors.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, STACK, or similar construction takeoff software.
- Experience reviewing Support of Excavation (SOE) plans.
- Familiarity with New York construction drawings and project requirements.
- Experience calculating concrete and reinforcement quantities for structural concrete projects.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate can independently review construction drawings, identify the concrete work included in the project, calculate accurate material quantities, and enter the results into an established Excel template.
Practical experience performing concrete quantity takeoffs from actual construction drawings is essential. The role does not require responsibility for preparing complete cost estimates or pricing labor and equipment.
Salaray Range:
$800 - $900
Full Time.
